G. Magical Hortobágy - Hortobágy National Park of is 50 Years Old

Hungary's first national park will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023. Its natural values are as legendary in the past as they are in the present. In the heart of Europe, the national park preserves a unique landscape unrivalled by any other: "a piece of Asia in the heart of Europe". We await for nature photographs that faithfully represent the biodiversity of the Hortobágy National Park, with  focus on the fauna and flora that live there, and that showcase the landscapes and natural phenomena of Hortobágy. In addition, as a World Heritage Site, we expect images that present the pastoral culture and traditional animal husbandry still alive today, as well as life portraits, portraits and photographs of human destinies, with a focus on nature.

The competition is jointly organised by the Hortobágy National Park Directorate and Magical Hungary Nonprofit Ltd.

PRIZES

Each month, the jury members will evaluate the entries based on their individual professional criteria, and the highest scoring entries will be awarded a prize by the competition organiser. An aggregated ranking list is produced from the jury scores obtained for the images during the competition season, and the ranking list for each category is also available for download. Each applicant can keep track of his/her annual and mid-year work in the ranking section. In the event of a tie, the jury and the organiser of the competition will decide on the individual placings after the public vote has closed, so there is no tie or tie. At the end of the year, the 1st place in the overall ranking will win the main prize of the Magical Hungary nature photography competition, i.e. the Hungarian Nature Photography Grand Prize.
